A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced School Re-integration Key Worker to join the Alternative Provision Innovation Fund (APIF) project at Bradford AP Academy Central (BAPAC).
Bradford AP Academy Central (BAPAC) secured funding from the DfE in 2018, through a successful application to the Alternative Provision Innovation Fund (APIF), to deliver a project titled ‘Support improved reintegration rates through trialling key worker support for children, and develop partnerships with secondary schools in the area’. We are looking to recruit a Key Worker for a fixed term from October 2019 to 31st August 2020.
Due to the nature of the role and its requirements, it is expected that successful candidates will have experience of working with young people, schools and families. In addition, we will be willing to consider applications from colleagues who are able to take up the post on secondment.
Bradford AP Academy Central (BAPAC) is part of the Exceed Academies Trust, which currently consists of seven academies; five primary schools and an all-through primary-to-secondary school. The Trust has an excellent reputation within Bradford and beyond, and an outstanding track record of supporting staff in developing their careers. An exciting element of the Trust is our two Teaching Schools, as well as a SCITT, responsible for teacher training.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proven skills and ability to work with young people, families, schools and other agencies, with a passion for delivering outcomes.
Professional credibility through proven relevant experience.
Ability and desire to model and demonstrate our values.
Professional knowledge of young people, secondary education and family support work.
A creative and innovative approach to solution focused working, with the ability to engage, mobilise and motivate people to address challenges, and challenge perceptions, about young people in Bradford.
A strategic approach, showing understanding of the wider inclusion context and the impact they can have on young people by delivering support through work with families, schools and the PRU.
A self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently, making decisions that help to achieve the outcomes and objectives of the project, whilst embedding our core values into the projects day-to-day delivery.
An effective collaborator, recognising the strengths of people and organisations; taking a strengths-based approach to make the most of opportunities.
A smart, flexible worker; recognising how to carry out the role in the most effective way, including collaboration and partnership working with key project partners.
An ability to demonstrate resilience and consistency by remaining calm and in control to maintain effective work behaviours, when faced with setbacks or pressure.
Passionate about Bradford and improved social mobility; understanding how to raise aspirations and ambitions by partnership working with young people, families, schools, the PRU and other agencies.
